Like you my family is the most important thing in my life. My children are wonderful and I would do anything to keep them safe and happy. I take every care to make sure they are not put in harms way. I am sure you are exactly the same.

I was dropping some goods at the post office today and chatting to the local post lady. On her daughters first day of school, she was put on the wrong school bus and was subsequently missing for some 2 hours.

The ending to the story is simple – she is now going to another school which does not require a bus trip and her mum drops her off and picks her up. She has changed her work to make sure that she can.

This story made me think. We put our beautiful little babies in the hands of teachers and other child care providers each day without checking up if they are suitable for the job. Sure the school is supposed to check them out but how many times have you read stories were criminals were working at schools?
