Getting The Right RC Car For You

When you hear the term radio controlled (RC) nitro high power car, it probably brings to mind events like a Saturday evening at the hot rod races or of the roar of dragsters hurtling down the track making your head spin.

The things that usually come to mind instantly are the smells - the exhaust fumes are so strong its like they've invade every cell in your body - and the noise. The crowd screams as the drivers pull away from the starting line and the action begins in a blue haze from the spinning tires.

So, if you love the feeling you get from that kind of an experience, but can't make it down to the raceway on a regular basis, then maybe a nitro high power car is for you. With the miniature version, you can capture some of the excitement that comes from being there.

The great thing about these gas-powered RC cars is that they are replicas of the high power car models that are seen on the racing tracks. They are powered by a fuel mix that includes a fuel called nitro, hence they are often referred to as RC nitro cars.

One popular version is the RC high power car. They aren't quite the same as the grown up versions though as they don't lubricate the engine in the same way and so need to have some castor oil added to the fuel blend to make sure they don't become overheated and break down.

If you've considered getting a RC electric car or a nitro high power car then its important to know what the main advantage is of each. That way you can work out what suits your budget and lifestyle.

Nitro cars are fast. Must faster than electric cars and they can maintain their speed for longer. They also only need to be refuelled and they are back on the road. RC electric cars are powered by batteries so unless you are prepared to buy additional battery packs you won't be able to race all day.

Another consideration is noise. The high power car that is nitro powered is also quite noisy in addition to having to deal with the exhaust issues. With this in mind, these powerful little racers are not intended to be raced indoors.
